Design furniture made for movement with igus motion plastics – see designs in action at NeoCon 2017

The motion plastics specialist will be showcasing furniture with flexibility at NeoCon 2017 from June 12th-14th 2017, at Chicago’s The Mart in booth #7-2042

For Immediate Release (June 8th, 2016)- As the need for functional and multipurpose office furniture continues to grow, igus bearings offers flexible solutions for sophisticated furniture design. With furniture becoming more technological and innovative, users need to adapt as movement changes. This mobility and range extension for a flexible set up system can be seen at NeoCon 2017 in Chicago, Illinois from June 12th-14th at The Mart in booth #2042.

Products include a height adjustable mobile desk, allowing users to work while crouching, sitting or standing. Created with the utmost sustainable and quality solid wood sourced from forestry in Austria, these mobile bureaus utilize igus solutions and are not only practical but stylish. Additionally, they provide user major health benefits with studies showing that attention to focus increases for employees who utilize a standing desk, as well as multiple benefits for spine health.

Other solutions include wall mounting bureaus that are compact and height adjustable. The sophisticated design feature no gas pressure springs, allowing a posh appearance for at home office space. Utilizing weight guided by drylin W-profile guides from igus, the preassembled system consists of rails made of hard-anodized aluminum and carriage, which form excellent pairings with iglide linings in the bearings housings for optimum mobility. The high performance polymer iglide linings are self-lubricating meaning that the bearings require no external lubrication to be applied over their entire service life.

Each moving part of this game changing home and office furniture, from its bearings, to the rollers, and hinges of the table has been designed to provide consumers and businesses functionality, flexibility, and appealing design. The furniture is all equipped with a socket strip and cable carrier for power and data, created by igus’ energy chain division. Additionally, a small energy chain, equipped with compatible chainflex cables, ensures the guiding of the cables to operate smoothly with the moving tables.

Additional products for green furniture designs will also be on display. To schedule a meeting with our experts or marketing team at the show, for complimentary passes, or to learn more about igus products for commercial design, please email Ellen Rathburn at erathburn@igus.com.
