Cable reels replaced with new Energy Chain solution at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is the leading opera and performing arts venue in Kansas City, MO. Since its opening in 2011, it has hosted over 2.5 million guests. To power the overhead speaker and lighting trusses, cable reels were originally used. When the cable reels began causing maintenance and reliability issues, the Kauffman Center’s stage management team turned to igus^® for a new, creative solution. During planned downtime, igus^® engineers designed and installed four custom-made, maintenance-free zig zag energy chain systems to replace the previously-used cable reels.
